Henry Cavill is starring in a new movie called “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” directed by Guy Ritchie. In the trailer released on Tuesday, Cavill, known for playing Superman, leads a team of fighters on a secret mission against the Nazis. The group is described as a mix of unconventional and daring individuals.
The movie is based on real events from secret files of the British War Department, adapted from the book “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops” by Damien Lewis. It tells the story of the first special forces organization formed during World War II by Prime Minister Winston Churchill and others, including Ian Fleming, the author of James Bond.
Their bold actions during the war changed its course and influenced the creation of the British SAS and modern Black Ops tactics.
Guy Ritchie, known for directing movies like “The Covenant,” “Sherlock Holmes,” and “The Gentlemen,” is the director of “Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” The cast includes actors such as Eiza González from “Ambulance,” Alan Ritchson from “Reacher,” Alex Pettyfer from “Magic Mike,” Hero Fiennes Tiffin from “After,” Henry Golding, Cary Elwes, Babs Olusamokun, Henrique Zaga, and Til Schweiger.
Henry Cavill, who will next appear in the spy movie “Argylle,” shared on Instagram in April about finishing work on “Ungentlemanly Warfare.” He praised the team’s dedication and Guy Ritchie’s leadership, highlighting Ritchie’s storytelling abilities. Cavill emphasized the enjoyable atmosphere on set, filled with laughter and camaraderie among the crew and cast, making the experience memorable and rewarding.
